Progressive/melodic progressive / art rock – GERMANY
Certainly, one of the most significant German progressive bands in recent years is RPWL, an act that over 25 years of career has released 11 studio and 9 live albums. Although only two members from the original line-up remain in the group: Yogi Lang and Kalle Walner, it seems that the band’s sound has only gained additional value over the years, characterized by a different sophistication and quality.

Indie/alternative/pop/dark pop/ various genres – GERMANY
Out of Germany comes an artist fen, and he delivers an intimate, six-track EP called „The Product of Growing Up“, offering a reflective glimpse into the process of growing up. Stripped-down acoustic guitars, subtle synths, and airy arrangements create a delicate, introspective soundscape, with his soft, emotive vocals at the center. Also, he has introduced himself as an author who, in his own way, communicates with several genre forms.

Emo/scremo – GERMANY
At this year’s extremely interesting Belgrade „Mačkin Spectrum Week,“ I had the chance to meet Filip Stojiljković, aka Filip Stounn, an extremely active personality in the underground community, a person who, besides being involved in photography works, his solo career, and playing music in his Eva Ras band, has also created on his Instagram page an unofficial but very extensive encyclopedia of the EX-Yu powerviolence scene. A multitude of bands and figures are included, so I recommend checking it out. Filip gifted me a few releases on this occasion, among them the album by the German band with an ordinary name but a not-so-ordinary musical approach, Older Friends.
