Avant-garde/free jazz/spoken word -USA

“Bound To Live” is an album/project of three artists, among whom saxophonist Danny Kamins plays an extremely important role, about whose works I wrote earlier. In addition to him, the poet and his poetic performance David LeJeune played an impoortant rola, as well as bassist Ethan Adkison.

So here we have an experimental edition, where free and avant-garde jazz face the spoken word form. This is one of those releases, which USA artists created during numerous free sessions during the 60’s.Also, this can be seen from the point of view of the creation of the first “rap” recordings, where jazz flows in, quite logically providing and revealing a different feeling and atmosphere. Likewise, the recordings from this edition, and there are a total of 5 of them, judging by their atmosphere, can be associated with the European artistic theater model, that was present in a more pronounced form, during the 30’s period of the previous century.  The musician’s improvisation itself is in the function of the spoken word, but there was enough space for experiment and research.
This is another interesting and non-standard edition, which Danny Kamins and his collaborators arranged.
