Folk/roots music/dreamy pop – IRELAND
Brigid Mae Power is an Irish singer/songwriter whose popularity and importance are growing day by day. She has been recognized as a singer and author, which authentically combines modern folk/roots with a dreamy pop approach. Her confident and emotional voice contributes significantly to the atmosphere of the songs she performs.
“Dream From The Deep Well” is her fourth album, which expected to be released in June 2023, as a CD, LP and digitally. This is album where we can find 11 tracks in, one of song is cover of Tim Buckley’s “I Must Have Been Blind”. Here is also a moving tribute to the late Ashling Murphy, a 23-year-old Irish primary school teacher and traditional Irish musician, who was attacked and killed while jogging along the Grand Canal just outside Tullamore, County Offaly.
In addition to a very intimate relationship to internal and personal questioning, the songs also have a social, as well as a clear political departure.
The largest number of tracks is done in a medium tempo, where the organized musical accompaniment, comes from the so-called second plan, creating a specific atmosphere. There’s no doubt that the potential listener has a modern release in front of him, which deserves an analytical approach and more frequent listenings. Altough it may not “seem” like that, mentioned album is a kind of conceptual soundtrack, to which you will often return.
