(Sad Luck Dame Records) 2019.
EP CD/digital
Folk/Americana – USA
Out of Boston, Massachusetts, comes a singer/songwriter Rachel Sumner, active for some period ago. She is a solo performer, storyteller, and person with suggestive and charming vocal style.
A few days ago, she has released an actual single, but in December of previous 2019 year, her EP with 5 tracks in, „The Things You Forgot“, took the attention of folk/Americana community.
With her acoustic guitar, she performed covers, songs penned by the authors as are: Bob Dylan, Elliott Smith, Kacy & Clayton and Josh Ritter. Rachel has given her own sensitive signature, nothing less with strong emotive approach. All of the songs are pretty listenable, especially in my opinion two closing tracks – „Between The Bars“ and „Simple Twist Of Fate“.
„The Things You Forgot“ isn’t only a book of more or less well-known covers. This is also a nice souvenir of Rachel’s performing look on some past period of folk/Americana glory days, and of course her original view of interpretation of the presented songs.
