Behind Projekt Ich’s story is the author, main instrumentalist Ulf Müller, whose activity dates back to 2011. Before the current one, he released two albums: „By Train Through Countries“ (2019) and „Freedom For All“ (2022). The new album, titled „A Beautiful Day In Autumn,“ features 15 compositions.
One of the peculiarities of the album is that certain songs were sung by artists from France, Belgium, Austria, Sweden, Guatemala, England, and Germany, with three compositions, „Dad“, „Mom“, and „Sister“, sung by Ulf himself as very personal pieces. The single „Sister“ will also be released as an audio CD-R on January 21, 2026. Ulf Müller’s expressive approach can be characterized as a combination of influences stemming from the electro/synthpop trends of the 1980s. This includes both those gravitating towards the pop form, as well as those closer to alternative approaches. So, we can hear some influences taken from the for example approaches of the acts, such as Human League or Heaven 17, and on the other hand, the styles of Gary Numan or late Ultravox are also present here. But, we can also add that Ulf and his Project Ich all the time find their own style, which, not entirely, but in certain parts, can be considered original. „A Beautiful Day In Autumn“ is also a complex release, where all the songs from the album do not come across so simply on the „first“ listen, but are conceived in such a way that you discover them gradually.
