Keybordist John Lonnmyr is an artist coming from Gothenburg, and a person with great experience and rich musical knowledge. He collaborated with quite a few bands and musicians, and he released his first solo album “Ristor” in 2020.
“Aftonland”, the actual album is published by “Red Round Records” and will have its international premiere on November 3rd this year. This is instrumental product with 8 tracks in, released and recorded with couple of excellent musicians. So, what can we find in this album. First and foremost this is serious release, with many quality arrangement solutions, instrumental communications, where the sound richness reveals the great potential of the key person. The sound of keyboards dominates the prepared material, as well as elements of 70’s progressive tendencies that are effectively in touch with contemporary progressive/progressive rock challenges. Considering Mr. Lonnmyr’s experience, as well as his great knowledge of other genre forms, certain themes also contain hidden elements of jazz, as well as more avant-garde forms. Of course, the author and his collaborators also like to improvise, and all this contributes to the strong intensity of the phrases played. The complete album is full of creative ideas, and musically it will appeal to both older and newer fans and followers of progressive tendencies. “Aftonland” is viewed from many angles, a highly recommended release.
