Gaelic Americana/Celtic folk/roots music – USA

Kyle Carey is a singer/songwriter who has her own unique expressive style. It is called Gaelic Americana, culturally rooted in Scottish and Irish traditions. She sings in English and in Gaelic (Gaidhlig), and her approach is enriched, besides strong folk ventures, with other roots music and Americana influences.

„The Last Bough“ is her fourth album in a row, and it was conceived and created over 3 years. It is presented very seriously and concisely, and the 10 prepared compositions, with their complex structure, unconventional yet powerful emotions, and the flow of the mentioned original influences, create an original story by the author, which you can view as a kind of modern-day life novel with all the accompanying everyday experiences. The album was produced by Kai Welch and recorded in Nashville, and the colorful arrangements and rich harmonization are complemented by natural instruments, which uniquely emphasize the author’s vocals, also more clearly expressing her message.

The offered material is very vivid; in a way, it takes you back to past times, but it is also modern enough, offering an original vision and message from Kyle Carey, whose authenticity is clearly reflected. „The Last Bough“ reflects numerous images and visualizes the stories presented here. An interesting and original work, which confirms Kyle Carey’s creative seriousness.
