Kinsman Dazz Band ne treba mešati sa originalnim Dazz bendom koji je delovao tokom druge polovine 70-tih i 80-tih godina, mada određene asocijacije mogu se povući, kao i želja ovih aktera da dodatno „citiraju“ značaj pomenutog originalnog pređašnjeg sastava. Objavili su do sada nekoliko singlova sa zanimljivim pesmama i intersantnim video klipovima.
Aktuelni song nosi naziv „Soul Jam“ i inicira neku vrstu letnje atmosfere, ali dobrim delom i vraća priču na 70-te i 80-te godine, na sastave koji su kroz tkzv. dance prizmu „gurali“ soul i funk elemente. Upravo je i „Soul Jam“ jedna takva pesma koja odiše pozitivnom atmosferom kao i povezanošću novih tendencija sa starijim šmekom. Nije to nešto bog zna kako inovativno, ili originalno, ali je urađeno tehhnički na visokom nivou, što važi i za aranžmanski, a takođe i vokalni deo. Svoj posao su odlično uradili pevač Michael J Calhoun, kao i gostujuća pevačica Heidi Tann. Ritmovi se smenjuju, pozitivna letnja atmosfera dominira, „živi“ i elektronski instrumenti se dopunjuju, i nema sumnje da je pred slušaocima potencijalni hit. KinsmanDazz Band shouldn’t be mistaken for the original Dazz Band, the legendary outfit that made waves throughout the second half of the ’70s and well into the ’80s. Still, the connection is easy to spot, and it’s clear these musicians in some way pay tribute to the band’s enduring influence. Over the past few years, they’ve put out a string of singles, each accompanied by solid songs and visually appealing videos.
Their latest release, „Soul Jam,“ is tailor made for the summer season. At the same time, it takes listeners back to an era when dance music effortlessly embraced the rich flavors of soul and funk. That’s exactly the territory this track explores. It’s upbeat, warm, and packed with positive energy, blending contemporary production with a healthy dose of vintage charm.
There’s nothing particularly groundbreaking or revolutionary here, but that’s not really the goal. Instead, the band focuses on delivering a well crafted song with polished production, a tasteful arrangement, and strong vocal performances. Michael J.
