The female duo LEI consists of two extraordinary singers: Laurene Barnel and Carine Habauzit, who create musical pictures with their voices, I would add life pictures and stories, through which, besides world music elements, they touch other genre forms as well.
Vocally exceptionally educated, their music should be viewed as a harmonious whole, where, alongside unison vocal flights, different emotional outbursts progress in parallel, gentle segments where musical forms enter the world of Mediterranean colorful tones, some kind of folklore coming from various surroundings, and simply „stories“ that seem to have come from distant times, but are integrated into the present moment. This kind of musical message simply „hypnotizes“ you at times, whether the arranged compositions are set to highlight vocal dialogues, or some symbolic „accompanying“ thread that „rhythmically“ deepens the final creation. And these two ladies seem to do all of this in a simple way, although it is well known that everything that looks simple is very difficult to realize. Which means that these artists precisely hit their intended goal, and their message is multilayered and colorful.
There is no need to emphasize that what this duo does is a true example of vocal school, which combines traditional and modern, of course in a contemporary way, confirming the old theory of some analysts, that the voice is actually the most persuasive instrument.
Ženski duo LEI sastoji se od dve vanredne pevačice : Laurene Barnel i Carine Habauzit, koje svojim glasovima kreiraju muzičke slike, dodao bih životne slike i storije, kroz koje se dodiruju pored world music elemenata i druge žanrovske forme.
Vokalno izuzetno edukovane , njihovu muziku treba posmatrati kao skladnu celinu gde pored unisonih glasovnih izleta, uporedo koračaju različiti emocionalni iskoraci, nežni segmenti gde muzičke forme ulaze u svet mediteranskih koloritnih boja, nekakavog folklora pridošlog iz različitih sredina i jednostavno „priče“ koja kao da je došla iz davnih vremena, ali je uklopljena u sadašnji trenutak. I ta i takva muzička poruka vas na momente jednostavno „hipnotiše“, bilo da su sklopljeni aranžmani postavljeni tako da do izražaja dolaze vokalni dijalozi, ili nekakva simbolična „prateća“ nit, koja „ritmički“ produbljuje finalnu kreaciju.
A ove dve dame sve to čini se rade na jednostavan način, iako je dobro poznato da sve što izgleda jednostavno, jako je teško realizovati. Što znači da ove umetnice tačno pogađaju zacrtani cilj, i njihova poruka je višeslojna i koloritna.
Ne treba posebno isticati da ono što ovaj duo radi predstavlja pravi primer vokalne škole, koja spaja tradicionlno i moderno, naravno na savremen način, potvrđujući staru teoriju pojedinih analitičara, kako je zapravo vokal najubedljiviji instrument.
