Brick Briscoe is an unusual figure on the international scene. He is an artist whose fields of interest encompass and touch multiple spheres. He is a singer-songwriter, filmmaker, producer, and above all, an emotional personality who looks at the world through his specific views. He has been releasing musical materials and publications since 2013, and despite frequent health problems, his activities do not decrease.
His current album is called „Found Footage,“ and through 9 songs that harbor an unusual atmosphere, equally melancholic yet challenging, the artist confronts numerous existential dramas and problems, and by entering and going through them, seeks solutions that in the end can be positive or even optimistic. That kind of atmospheric quality largely reminds one of a musical approach that British bands like Magazine or Echo & The Bunnymen had, but only in part, because there is also the other, much more „rebellious“ aspect that draws energy from punk rock, as well as from a more sharply performed variant of the American legacy.
Brick’s vocals are suggestive, narrative, and the background guitar vibrato with slight distortion heightens the tension of the songs themselves, and all of this reveals a stylistic characteristic that is typically his.
„Found Footage“ is an album that you simply have to play multiple times in order to „dive“ into the world of Brick Briscoe. And he certainly deserves it through his actions and work.
Brick Briscoe je neobična figura na internacionalnoj sceni.On je artist, čija polja intersovanja zaokružuju i dotiču više sfera. On je kantautor, filmmaker, producent, i nadasve emotivna ličnost svet posmatra svojim specifičnim pogledima.
Muzičke materijale i izdanja objavljuje od 2013-e godine, pa i pored čestih zdravstvenih problema njegove aktivnosti se ne smanjuju.
Aktuelni album se zove „Found Footage“, i kroz 9 pesama koje kriju jednu neobičnu atmosferičnost, jednako melanholičnu, ali i izazovnu, autor se suočava sa brojnim egzistencijalnim dramama, problemima i ulazeći i prolazeći kroz njih, traži rešenja, koja na kraju umeju da budu pozitivna ili čak optimistička. Ta i takva atmosferičnost dosta podseća na jednim delom muzički pristup kojeg su imali britanski sastavi poput : Magazine, ili Echo & The Bunnymen, ali samo jednim delom, jer postoji i onaj drugi mnogo više „buntovnički“ koji kroz sebe crpi energiju proisteklu iz punk rocka, ali i izvođački oštrije varijante Američkog nasleđa.
