Le Bal Jacquin is a French band led by accordionist and composer Eric Allard-Jacquin, who recently released a debut album titled „Au bout du bout.“ The album features 10 songs/themes that embody an „exploratory“ creativity, evident throughout the fully arranged material.
Besides the group members, two important guests participated on the album: Camille Bezbaz and Oriane Lacaille. The group’s sound, which is based on instrumental form with occasional vocal segments, consists of a combination of several genre forms and diverse influences. In the group’s approach, elements of Mediterranean sound, world music elements, sophisticated jazzy details, as well as music commonly played in the period between the 1930s and 1950s, can be noticed. Eric, together with his team, performs the material in a charming way, where each instrument stands out individually, as well as the mutual musical dialogues.
Simple, yet hypnotic rhythms, combined with harmonic sophistication and overall melodiousness, make the music on the release listenable and pleasing to the listener. Although it seems that everything flows simply and easily in their case, there is no doubt that the material is sufficiently contemporary and suited to the present time.
La Bal Jacquin je francuski sastav kojeg predvodi harmonikaš i autor Eric Allard-Jacquin, koji je nedavno objavio debitantski album naziva „Au bout du bout“. Na albumu se našlo 10 songova/tema koe kroz sebe buku „istraživačku“ kreaciju, koja je vidljiva preko kompletno priređenog materijala. Pored sastava na albumu su uzeli učešće i dvoje gostiju : Camille Bezbaz i Oriane Lacaille. Zvuk grupe koji je baziran na instrumentalnoj formi uz ređe prisustvo vokalnih segmenata, sastoji se iz kombinacije više žanrovskih formi i raznolikih uticaja. Tako da se u pristupu grupe primećuju elementi mediteranskog sounda, world music elemenata, sofisticiranih jazzy detalja, kao i muzike koja se svirala najčešće u periodu između 30-tih i 50-tih godina prošlog veka. I Eric zajedno sa svojim timom izvodi materijal na šarmantan način, gde do izražaja dolazi svaki instrument posebno, kao i međusobni svirački dijalozi.
Jednostavni, ali hipnotički ritmovi, uz dodatak harmonske rafiniranosti i generalne melodičnosti, čine muziku sa izdanja slušljivom i slušaocu prijemčivom. Iako deluje da u njihovom slučaju sve teče jednostavno i lako, nema sumnje da je prisutni materijal dovoljno savremen i prilagođen sadašnjem trenutku.
