Melodic metal/alter metal/progressive metal – GREECE
This I Owe is a quartet from Athens, Greece, which has existed for some time, and whose members have previous experience. The line-up includes a singer named Maria Kanellaki, who, with her direct way of communicating, quite influences the atmospheric quality of the songs the band performs.
The group’s genre repertoire itself seems like a more complex story, where different ideas intertwine, and where the musical songs vary from melodic metal options, through alternative and progressive tendencies. Listening to the material, one comes to the conclusion, that the songs are different from each other, although together they seem to be united by some common concept. Changes in „mood,“ sudden, somewhat unexpected playing interventions, psychologically lean toward progressive elements, which, although in somewhat smaller form, are still present in their music. Regarding the production, it can also be said that it is done in their own way, and can be „set up“ or „treated“ as if it originated from the present time, but also from some earlier decades.
This I Owe is musically interesting, but if one were to honestly consider the complete prepared material, the impression is gained that certain songs are somewhat expressively unfinished. However, a good premise for their further ventures is the brave confrontation with authorship challenges, which certainly represents a certain quality.
This I Owe su kvartet iz Atine, Grčka, koji postoje već neko vreme, i čiji članovi imaju ranijeg iskustva. U postavi imaju pevačicu koja se zove Maria Kanellaki, i koja svojim neposrednim načinom komunikacije, prilično utiče na atmosgeričnost pesama koje sastav interpretira.
Sam žanrovski opus grupe deluje kao neka složenija priča, gde se prepliću različite ideje, gde muzički songovi variraju od melodic metal opcija, preko alter i progressive tendencija. Preslušavajući materijal dolazi se do zaključka da su pesme među sobom različite, iako sve zajedno deluju da ih spaja nekakav zajednički koncept. Promene „raspoloženja“ , iznenadne pomalo neočekivane sviračke intervencije. psihološki vuku ka progressive elementima, koji iako u nešto manjoj formi su ipak prisutni u njihovoj muzici. Za produkciju se takođe može reći da je urađena na neki njihov način, i može biti „postavljena“, ili „tretirana“, kao da je proistekla iz sadašnjeg vremena, ali i nekih ranijih dekada.
This I Owe su muzički intersantni, ali ako bi iskreno sagledavali kmpletan priređeni materijal, stiče se utisak, da su određene pesme donekle izražajno nedovršene. Ali, dobara pretpostavka za dalje njihove iskorake je hrabro suočavanje sa autrskim izazovima, što predstavlja sigurno određeni kvalitetet.
