Dirty Sound Magnet are a trio from Switzerland, led by their main songwriter, guitarist, and singer, Stavros Dzodzosz. Including their latest release, they have put out five studio albums so far. They’ve also played a large number of concerts across Europe, Mexico, and the UK.
Within Switzerland, they’re considered an important underground band that expresses its thoughts and ideas in a very raw, straightforward way. Their sound blends several styles — from ’70s rock to psychedelic elements — delivered in a very sonic approach, often with plenty of distortion but also strong melodic vocal moments. Different decades and forms intertwine throughout their style, along with some unusually structured arrangements, placing them at the forefront as an original act that has something meaningful to say and, just as importantly, to perform live on stage.
Work on their latest album, „Me And My Shadow“, was interrupted due to illness suffered by the aforementioned Stavros Dzodzosz. In the end, however, the record came together through a broader perspective shaped by the guitarist’s experience with that difficult period, as well as by sounds rooted in earlier times. Dirty Sound Magnet come across as exciting, creative, and performatively diverse across all eight tracks on the release. It’s a very convincing album that, in a way, marks the opening of a new chapter in the band’s career.

Smatraju se, što se same Švajcarske tiče značajnim underground sastavom, koji na ogoljen način ispoljava svoja razmišljanja i ideje. Njihov sound predstavlja kombinaciju više idioma od 70’s rocka, preko psychedelic elemenata, urađenih na jedan soničan način, često sa puno distorzije, ali i melodičnih vokalnih istupa. Muzika za aktuelni album „Me And My Shadow“ je prekidana zbog bolesti pomenutog Stavrosa Dzodsoza, ali je na kraju realizovana kroz prizmu jedne šire slike posmatranja kroz iskustvo pretrpljenog stanja gitariste, kao i zvuka koji je kreiran u prošlim vremenima.
