Proof that the harp has become a relevant force in the interpretation of flamenco as a genre, and in similar expressive forms as well, can be found in the work and musicianship of Ana Crismán Arpa Flamenca project. There is no doubt that the role she has “etched” for this instrument within the music she creates marks a new chapter and offers a fresh perspective on how flamenco and related forms can be performed and interpreted.
She first drew public attention with the release of an EP, though I’d say the real impression of her artistry comes through on the album „Arpaora“ The record features a team of established and well-known musicians, each delivering their part with conviction and clarity. The music itself flows with a powerful, expressive energy, rich in ideas and driven by passion, shaped through a refined, layered, and at times quite unexpected approach to arrangement, where every performer’s contribution stands out.
The material on the album feels cohesive and very much alive, filled with surprising rhythmic sequences and an ever-present melodic sensibility that, when it comes to this genre, is deeply rooted in the folklore of an entire region. This is one of those releases that needs to be experienced, and felt in a particular, almost intimate way. There’s no doubt that we can expect much more that is compelling, and passionately crafted, from this artist in the future.
Dokaz da harfa kao instrument postaje relevantan činilac u interpretaciji flamenca kao žanra i sličnih izražajnih formi, je rad i muziciranje Ane Crisman Arpa Flamenca. Nema sumnje da uloga ovog instrumenta, koju je ona „utisnula“ u muziku koju kreira predstavlja neko novo poglavlje i neki novi pogled, na koji način se flamenco i slične forme mogu izvoditi i interpretirati. Pažnju javnosti je stekla realizacijom EP-a, da bi pretpostavljam pravi utisak o njenom stvaralaštvo bio predstvljen na albumu naziva „Apraora“. Na njemu je uzeo učešće tim etabliranih i poznatih muzičara, koji je svoje uloge odigrao na ubedljiv način. Sama muzika, koja predstavlja snažan ekspresivan protok energije, različitihidejnih rešenja, strasti, urađena je uz rafiniranu, složenu i prilično neočekivanu aranžmansku prizmu, gde muziciranje svih aktera dolazi do snažnog izražaja. Materijal sa albuma je koherentan , vrlo „živ“, prepun neočekivanih ritmičkih sekvenci i generalno prisutnoj melodičnosti, koja kada je ovaj žanr u „igri“ je dovoljno oblikovan kroz folklor celog jednog regiona. Ovo je jedno od onih izdanja, koje treba doživeti i na specifičan način osetiti. Nema sumnje da od ove umetnice u budućnosti možemo očekivati još dosta doga zanimljivog i da dodam strastvenog.
