On June 27, 2025, the ninth album of the Spontus quartet will be released on the market, under the label „Klam Records“ and the distribution chain ‘L’Autre Distribution’. Thus, one of the most significant national compositions of the ‘dance’ variant of music that combines folk tradition and world music idioms is once again at the center of public interest.
Their current album has 10 compositions, which work together as a harmonious whole, and the polyphonic singing, along with the precise musicianship of all the performers, makes the songs memorable, appealing, and during this time, they influence the listener’s good mood. Only vocalization possesses a kind of hypnotic approach, and a pagan variant of returning to some past times, past centuries, but where only the knowledge of musical standards allows for modernity in the ultimate realization of the arranged songs. And what is important to emphasize is that the presentation of music by the group, during the performance, offers a good mood and a generally positive atmosphere. The role of the accordion and violin in such a performance setup adds a specific flavor to the songs, which, along with the mentioned way of vocalizing, often leads to unusual creative solutions, and such creative solutions represent an important asset of this ensemble.
