Brazilian music/jazz/world music – ITALY

In the previous part of her career, Irene Amata was known as the interpreter of a Brazilian repertoire, and in the duo Sambuca, she released an album in 2000.

„Sembianze“ can be treated as a new beginning in her work, and this time, with the team of three collaborators: Fady Farah on piano, Maurizio Congiu on double bass, and JB Perraudin on drums, she has prepared 11 authors’ songs, sung mostly in the  Italian language.
So, „Sembianze“ as an album consists of quite complex material, where through the sophisticated musical performance of the actors, as well as Irena’s vocalizations, we arrive at creative solutions that primarily touch on elements of Brazilian music, as well as jazz, a specific kind of fusion, and world music tendencies. Different arrangement solutions vary from composition to composition, as well as different moods, and all of this represents an indispensable characteristic of this album. As a singer, just as an author, Irene, through songs changes its moods, which is reflected in the psychology of the prepared material, which should be accepted as some kind of special, perhaps not so harmonious whole, but certainly an indigenous concept of Irena Amata and her collaborators. Check out the complex work of Irene Amata, and face it with album material.
