Legendary singer/composer and kora player Ablaye Cissoko joined forces with the famous accordionist Cyrille Brotto, and together they realized, played, and recorded an album called „Djiyo“. The release, in a short time, has been noticed and recognized around the world, and is gaining more and more respect, day by day.
With a human message, and with human-presented themes about relationships and recognitions, desires for freedom, Ablaye and Cyrill delve into eternal themes, musically introducing the listener to the world of the sweet tones of the instruments they play and the atmosphere they create all the time. The songs are done in slower mid, rarely mid-up tempo, where there is not a single „empty“ passage between instrumental traces, and where no tone is superfluous. Sometimes, the melancholy and sad atmosphere becomes the dominant factor of a certain composition, but it only confirms the seriousness of the set expressive goals of these two artists. Almost all songs have a narrative dimension as same to storytelling, and it is necessary to approach the prepared material very carefully, as well as each track separately.
