Black metal/symphonic metal – CANADA

From Quebec, Canada, comes a band, The Lightbringer. They have 3 albums in their discography, and during their period of existence, they received some feedback for their work. Thanks to the kindness of the members of the band, I recently received all 3 CD releases, with an emphasis on the still-relevant for the wider audience, one from last year titled „Seven Thrones.“

Generally, band combines variants of black metal and symphonic tendencies, with female and male voices, and conceptual views and posts. The same music possesses constant tension and frequent mood changes, with manneristic elements possibly being excessively present in certain instrumental passages. The performers’ grandeur is constant, but in certain parts, the vocals seem to be overly sharp. But, all the time, it is evident that the members of the team are deeply committed to their ideas, where the visual element also plays an important role, and it has been executed convincingly here. That combination of black metal views and symphonic tapestry sometimes may sound unusual, but it seems that the group managed to extract exactly what it wanted from itself.

„Seven Thorones“ is one of those albums that has its less interesting parts, but also its more compelling ones.  Visually and in design, interesting and creative solutions are offered.
