Iz Lexingtona, Kentacky, dolazi sastav Rudies. Deluju kao kvintet, a predvodi ih pevač i ključna figura Saint Jerrod. Iako po godinama ne deluju, relativno su noviji bend na USA reggae sceni. Objavili su istoimeni album, koji ih je predstavio kao grupu koja je inficirana 70′s i 80′ s reggae pokretom, i muzikom koja se stvarala/kreirala u pomenutom periodu. The Skatalites, Princ Buster, rani Wailersi, The Upseters su neka od imena pod čijim uticajima Rudies stvaraju svoju priču,koja takođe apsorbuje i elemente originalnosti, kao i izraženog socijalnog stava. Pesme su stilski i izvođački različite, neke više imaju ska naboj, druge su u klasičnijem reggae stilu, dok je deo urađen u miksu reggae/dub pristupa. Dve pesme bih izdvojio kao interesantnije, i to “No Justice”, i “Psycho Babylon” koja je urađena kao svojevrsni dub – psychedelic dijalog.

Full – length USA benda bi generalno mnogo više mogao biti interesantan pristalicama old school reggae varijanti, nego fanovima novijih žanrovskih tendencija.

Rudies are Lexington, Kentacky, USA based reggae band, and releatively a newer act.A group works in quintet formation, fronted by singer Saint Jerrod. Their ” S/t” album introduces them as a reggae band whose approach accepts lotta’ elements of earliest ska and dub as well. They are influental by the 70′s and 80′ reggae movement, but also posses an original attitude and approach. Prince Buster, The Skatalities, early Wailers, The Upseters are some of the influental names for USA fellows, whose materials also posses a strong social dimension too. Some songs deserves again listenings as a “No Justice” and specially “Psycho Babylon” with interesting playing dualities between dub and psychedelic phrases. Part of the materials are consists of more ska, other of more classic reggae, or reggae/dub influental themes.

A full – length album of USA guys could be probably more recomandable product for old school reggae followers.
